Two-factor authentication provides an additional layer of security to your accounts. When implemented, the process requires you to enter a unique Time-based One Time Password (TOTP) created through a third-party app. All you need to do is activate 2FA in your Oobit account, download an authentication app and link the two. We’ll explain everything below.
Step 1
Log into your Oobit account and click the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner. From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
Step 2
Select the tab in the centre “Password & Security”. Locate the Two-factor authentication option, and select Enable next to Google Authentication.
Step 3
Download the Google Authenticator app from your device’s app store. Once downloaded, create an account and scan the QR code provided on your Oobit account. Enter the 6 digit code provided on the app and click Enable.
Once you have enabled 2FA on your Oobit account you will be required to enter the TOTP each time that you log into your Oobit account.
NOTE: If your device that holds the authentication app is stolen or the security compromised, especially if it also holds access to your email, immediately deactivate 2FA on your Oobit account and alert out customer support should you be concerned over your account.
