When you use your card, we check your balance and approve or decline the purchase in real time.
Your balance drops straight away. If the purchase is approved, the amount is taken from your balance immediately, even though the payment shows as Pending.
The final amount can change. While a payment is pending, the merchant can adjust the final charge, for example to add a tip or release a hold. Hotels, car rentals and transport often do this.
One purchase can use several accounts. Purchases are drawn from your accounts in the order you set in the app. If the first account doesn't cover the full amount, the next one is used, and so on. Cashback and rewards in your balance are used before your own deposited funds.
Status | What it means |
Pending | Approved and taken from your balance. The final amount can still change |
Completed | The merchant confirmed the final charge. Cashback and points are finalized |
Canceled | The charge was reversed and the money returned to you |
Failed | The purchase was declined. The reason is shown on the transaction |
Card purchases have a 1% fee, minimum $0.25 (Brazil: 1%, no minimum).
