What documents do I need for verification?

The ID, selfie and other documents you may need to verify.

To verify your Oobit account

  • A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, national ID card or driving licence. Accepted documents depend on your country, and the app shows which ones you can use.

  • A selfie, taken in the app, to confirm the ID belongs to you.

You'll also confirm your name, date of birth and country of residence. Depending on your country, you may also be asked for proof of address or to answer a short questionnaire.

Extra checks for some features

  • Bank transfers (Send Crypto): our partner Unblock runs a one-time check and may ask for proof of address or other documents. US residents don't need to provide proof of address.

  • PIX (Brazil): a short check with our partner Avenia, based on your Oobit verification and your CPF.

Your Oobit verification is shared with these partners, so you won't start from scratch.

Tips for getting approved first time

  • Use a document that hasn't expired.

  • Make sure all four corners are visible and the photo is clear, without glare.

  • Use the same name as on your ID.

  • Take your selfie in good light, without a hat or sunglasses.
